Fishometric Australia · salt & estuary

Log the trip properly. Including the blanks.

Fishometric is a phone logbook for Australian recreational saltwater and estuary fishing. Start before you cast, run an honest timer, log fish or blanks, finish when you’re done — so your own effort and catch rate actually mean something. No public spot map. No fake bite scores.

Made-up sample. Not a forecast. Not your pin.

Three estuary fish, honest hours, conditions kept — so the next trip isn’t guesswork from memory.

What you get

  • Brief → On the water → Debrief Start before you cast, keep the timer honest, finish the session — even when the phone’s in the dry bag.
  • Blanks count Zero fish is still good data. We don’t bury empty days or only reward hero photos.
  • 30+ conditions on each trip Wind, tide, swell, pressure, water temp and more than twenty-five others — pulled for the trip so On your catch days comes from your hours, not vibes.
  • Your effort, your numbers Platform, method, habitat, region, and hours from your trips — personal catch rate you can trust, not vibes. Deeper coach comes later, after the logbook is honest.
  • Private by design Your exact pin stays on your phone. Shared CSV won’t include it. Pins aren’t a social feed.

Free is the full logger plus your results. Paid is for deeper patterns and a coach that can point you in the right direction when you're out on the water!

One outing

  1. Before first cast Open the logger, start the trip, set Brief as far as makes sense.
  2. On the water Leave the timer running. Tap fish or Blank as you go. Wet thumbs welcome.
  3. When you’re packing up End the trip. Check Debrief. Optional: look at “On your catch days” from your log when it shows — not a forecast for today.

Straight talk

  • Blanks count Empty days stay in the logbook.
  • No public honey-hole map Exact marks stay private. We don’t run a social spot map.
  • No fake bite scores No invented “X% chance” or solunar theatre dressed as certainty.
  • Pin stays on your phone When you allow it, the phone can take a pin so conditions can be local. The exact pin never goes in shared CSV or on a public surface. No pin? Region-only still works. You can type water temp if you measured it.

Crew

Coming soon

Crew plans: log it with your mates

Team up with the people you actually fish with. Share trips and spots inside your crew. Never on a public map.

Free

A$0

You and a couple of mates.

  • Be in 1 crew at a time. Own a crew of up to 3 (you + 2 mates), or join a mate’s Plus crew of up to 10 people.
  • Share trips, stats and spots inside the crew
  • Leave a crew or get removed, and there’s a 10-day wait before you can join or start another

Crew Plus

Owner pays

A$50 / year

Bigger crews. One person pays, mates stay free.

  • Up to 10 people (you + 9 mates) in each crew you own
  • Be in up to 5 crews yourself
  • No wait between crews
  • Mates on Free can join your crew. They stay free, but it’s their one crew unless they get Plus themselves.

Paid by the crew owner on the Fishometric website, through Stripe. Plus switches on in the app when you log in.

What your crew sees

  • Your display name
  • Your trip stats: trips, hours, catches and blanks
  • Your spot names and exact locations
  • An Open in Maps button so mates can find the spot

What stays private

  • Your notes
  • Your email address
  • Any spot you mark Keep this spot to myself. Your crew still sees the trip (hours, catch or blank, region), just not the spot.

No honey-hole map. Your map only ever shows your own spots. Mates’ spots show up as text in the crew feed, not as pins on a map.

Good to know

Invites hold a place
Invites go out by email and expire after 7 days. A pending invite takes up a place in the crew until it’s accepted, declined or expires.
Plans are managed on the website
Crew Plus is bought on the Fishometric website, paid through Stripe. You won’t see prices in the iPhone app. Once you’ve paid, log in and Plus switches on.
If Plus lapses
Nobody gets removed. The crew just can’t send new invites while it has 3 or more members. Handing the crew to a mate on Free counts as a lapse too. A lapsed payer keeps their crews, but can’t join or start a new one until they’re down to 1.

Crew questions

Do my mates have to pay?

No. Only the crew owner pays for Crew Plus. Everyone else in the crew stays on Free, and a mate on Free can join a Plus crew of up to 10 people (the owner + 9 mates). It counts as their one crew.

If a mate wants to be in a second crew as well, they’d need their own Crew Plus. Being in your Plus crew doesn’t cover that.

Can I keep my best spot to myself?

Yes. Turn on Keep this spot to myself for any spot. Your crew still sees the trip (hours, catch or blank, region), just not the spot: no spot name, no location.

Will my spots end up on a public map?

No. There’s no public map and no crew map. Mates see your spot name and location in the crew feed and can open it in their phone’s maps app. Your map only shows your own spots.

Once a mate has a location, it’s in their hands. Only invite people you’d trust with your spots.

Why can’t I buy Crew Plus in the iPhone app?

Plans are managed on the Fishometric website. Pay there through Stripe, then log in on your phone and Plus switches on.

What happens if the owner stops paying?

Nobody is removed and everyone keeps their view of the crew. The crew just can’t send new invites while it has 3 or more members.

What if I leave a crew?

Your trips and spots drop out of that crew straight away. Your own logbook stays as it is. On Free there’s a 10-day wait before you can join or start another crew. With Crew Plus there’s no wait.

If you own the crew, you can hand it to a mate. If you don’t, the longest-standing member takes over automatically. Your Crew Plus stays with you.

When can I use Crew?

It isn’t out yet and we don’t have a date to share. The solo logger is free to use now.

Crew isn’t live yet. The logger is: open the logger.

Australian saltwater first. Freshwater and further afield once it’s solid. Coaching after the logbook is honest — not on day one.
